WASTE MANAGEMENT OF
CANADA - A NATIONAL SPONSOR OF
WASTE REDUCTION WEEK 2004
Burlington, ON - October 15, 2004 - Waste Management
of Canada is pleased to announce its national sponsorship of Waste
Reduction Week - October 18 to 24, 2004.
Waste Management (WM), Canada's largest handler
of recyclable materials would like to see Canadians join together
and support environmental initiatives happening in their communities.
Throughout the week, WM is supporting a wide
array of educational and fun activities with communities, businesses
and environmental organizations across Canada. Some of these events
include: a recycling soapbox derby; a community cleanup; breakfasts
and symposiums with business and government leaders; and providing
reusable Halloween treat bags to school children. WM has also
supported the development of business and educational tool kits
which are made available through the Waste Reduction Week website.
