Environment & Safety
At Waste Management of Canada, environmental protection means more than complying with laws. It means being proactive in protecting human health, natural resources and the environment. It is being a leader in developing and implementing responsible and innovative environmental solutions.
We are committed to environmental stewardship and to protecting the health and well-being of our employees and our communities. This commitment is a cornerstone of what we do and is reflected in the services we provide to our customers, the design and operation of our facilities, the condition under which our employees work, and our relationships with the communities where we live and do business.
We look for ways to apply our knowledge and experience to improve our world. We invest our time and resources in innovations that produce measurable results. We seek solutions that provide both immediate and enduring environmental benefits. We develop knowledge we can share with others. We partner with regulators, communities, citizens, and other companies to seek solutions together. We understand that on our own we can make a start, but only together can we make a difference.
We believe that to be a successful business we must recognize the interests of stakeholder groups, the most important of which are the people and communities we serve. To this end, we endeavour to build strong partnerships and to develop sound responsible public policy and programs to assist our customers to reach their waste management goals in an environmentally responsible manner.
